A court-martial judge at Fort Meade is deciding whether to acquit an Army private of aiding the enemy for admittedly leaking reams of classified information.
Col Denise Lind says she will rule today on defense motions made on behalf of Pfc Bradley Manning.
The defense says prosecutors haven't shown that Manning knew that the material he sent to the WikiLeaks website would be seen by al-Qaeda when it was posted online.
That's the hurdle the government must clear to convict Manning of aiding the enemy. The offense carries a possible life sentence.
Lind is also considering whether to acquit Manning of computer fraud.
He also faces 19 other counts.
