Judge's laptop, wallet stolen from chamber in Delhi
Press Trust of India New Delhi In a daring act, an unidentified robber stole a laptop and wallet containing Rs 3,000 of a judge from his chamber in Karkardooma Court complex here amid tight security and dozens of security cameras, police said today.
The incident occurred between 1 to 1:15 pm on Monday, they said.
The incident came to light when the senior civil judge reached his chamber to have lunch and found his laptop and wallet containing Rs 3,000, some debit and credit cards stolen.
The judge then registered an FIR of theft in this regard, said the police.
Police have scanned the CCTV footage of the court premises and a person, suspected to have carried out the theft has been zeroed upon. However, investigators are still to identify and arrest the person.
"The person is seen roaming in the lobby with an empty bottle. It was probably done so that he can give excuse of looking for water if somebody enquired the reason of his presence. Efforts are on to trace him," said a police official.
