A city court today extended the judicial remand of suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh, an accused in the multi-crore rupee Saradha chit fund scam, till October five.
CBI judge Arvind Mishra extended the remand of Ghosh who was the chief of the Saradha Group's media wing.
Ghosh was arrested November 23, 2013 and was taken in custody by CBI which had taken over the probe on an order by the Supreme Court.
The CBI counsel, in its submission, cited that it has possessed "new evidences and witnesses" in the scam and hence its investigation was taking a "longer time".
The judicial remands of Saradha group chairman Sudipta Sen and group director Debjani Mukherjee, who too were produced in the court, were extended till October 5.
