The special court for NDPS cases here today rejected the discharge application of a hotel owner who is facing a case for hosting 'a rave party' in May 2012 at which IPL players Rahul Sharma and Wayne Parnell were allegedly present.
"The court has rejected the application of Vishay Handa," said a Mumbai police official.
Handa, Director of Oakwook restaurant in suburban Juhu, was arrested in May, 2012 along with around 100 persons after the police raided a party at the hotel and found that drugs were being consumed there.
Police later filed a 1,200-page charge sheet against 86 people under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Another 35 persons, mostly foreigners, were shown as wanted accused.
The charge sheet, among others, names Handa, disc jockeys Deepesh Sharma and Rakesh Sharma and actor Apurva Agnihotri and his wife Shilpa.
