Jung pledges to be an organ donor

Delhi's Lt Governor Najeeb Jung pledged to be an organ donor and became a member of the Delhi Organ Retrieval and Sharing Organization during his visit to the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences here.
He assured that considering the very high patient load, there is a need to enhance these facilities and make ILBS the best Liver center in whole of Asia.
"All great institutes need sacrifices which every body should prepare to make for this motherland of ours. Health and Education sectors are priority areas and this is for an institute to grow moral challenges also need to be dealt. All opportunities for the poorest of poor need to be used within our own limitation and constraints," Jung said.
He visited the 'GI Bleed unit' there to see how complicated and sick patients are managed with the greatest efficiency.
Jung stressed on the need for public education and awareness about liver diseases.
Jung also inaugurated the Dialysis Centre at the Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital in Tahirpur.

This was a major step towards Delhi government's mission to add about 150 dialysis machines in various hospitals.
The patients receiving care at these centres will be provided free counselling, education and medical consultation.
They will also get free tests like HB, Blood Sugar, KFT, LFT, Ca, P, HIV, HBV, and HCV.
The Government will provide free cashless dialysis under Delhi Arogya Kosh Scheme to the patients belonging to economically weaker section of society having income less than Rs 3 lakhs per year and being resident of Delhi for the last 3 years.
