Jung went through the inspection reports of the various teams of Delhi government officials who had visited hospitals in Delhi during a review meeting today.
The meeting was attended by the chief secretary, secretary (Health), Secretary (Finance), Secretary (PWD) and representatives from several Delhi Hospitals.
Jung also constituted a committee under the chairpersonship of finance secretary with Health and PWD secretary as members and directed them to adopt the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital and the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital and improve the functioning and upkeep of these hospitals within the next one month so that they become model hospitals.
Further, Jung directed the Health secretary to ensure that the private hospitals in NCT comply with the court's direction to reserve 10 per cent of their in-patient department (IPD) capacity and 25 per cent out-patient department (OPD) for free treatment of poor patients, a press statement issued by the LG's office said.
He told the officials that information regarding this facility must be prominently displayed outside such hospitals, as also in the reception areas, so that the poor and needy can avail of these services.
