Junior doctors in Telangana, who have been on an indefinite fast againstthe National Medical Commission bill, continued their boycott of emergency services for the third day on Saturday.
The junior doctors met state health minister E Rajender who assured them that he would represent to the Union Health Minister (Harsh Vardhan) on the issue, they said.
The junior doctors, who began their protests more than a week ago against the NMC bill, started boycotting emergency services at Gandhi, Osmania and other state-run medical college hospitals from 2 PM Thursday.
The Rajya Sabha had on Thursday passed the National Medical Commission Bill for replacing the Medical Council of India with a new body.
