Justice Alok Aradhe takes oath as judge of J&K court

Justice Alok Aradhe, a senior judge of Madhya Pradesh High Court, today took oath as judge of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, taking its working strength to 10, including Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar.
Chief Justice Vasanthakumar administered the oath of office to Justice Aradhe at a ceremony held at High Court here, an official spokesman said.
He said the notification received from the Union Law and Justice Ministry and the Letter of Authorisation by the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, authorising Chief Justice Vasanthakumar to administer the Oath of Office to the Judge was read by Register General High Court Ashok Kumar Koul.
Justice Aradhe, 52, was enrolled as Advocate on July 12, 1988.
He practiced on civil and constitutional, arbitration and company matters in the High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur and was appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh on December 29, 2009 and Permanent Judge on February 15, 2011.
Justice Aradhe said "the legal system can work effectively if there is cooperation between Bench and the bar and hoped that with the cooperation from the bar he will perform his duties to the best of his abilities."
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, sitting Judges, Advocate General Jehangir Iqbal, Chief Secretary B R Sharma, Director General Police K Rajendra, DGP (Law and Order) S P Vaid, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan and Inspector general of Police (Kashmir) Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani.
