Former Supreme Court judge Justice AK Ganguly today remained defiant about resigning as West Bengal Human Rights Commission (WBHRC) chairman while reiterating his denial of the allegation of sexual harassment made by a woman law intern.
"I have denied it, what more will I say," Ganguly told PTI over phone here when asked whether he continued to deny the allegations made by the intern.
Asked for his reaction on Trinamool Congress MPs demanding his removal as the WBHRC chairman in the Rajya Sabha today, he said: "How can I comment on Parliamentary proceedings?"
Justice Ganguly, when asked whether he would react despite allegations and demands for his resignation or removal as the human rights commission chairman from different quarters including additional solicitor general Indira Jaising, he said: "I will not say anything now."
The beleaguered chairman, asked by the media outside his residence why he was choosing not to resign, angrily retorted: "that is none of your business."
He reacted similarly when asked about his plans to take the matter forward.
A three-judge committee of the Supreme Court indicted Justice Ganguly of committing an "unwelcome behaviour" and "conduct of sexual nature" towards the woman law intern on December 24 last year in a Delhi hotel.
