Justice Iyer developed jurisprudence for common man: Ex-judge
Press Trust of India New Delhi Justice V R Krishna Iyer had developed a new jurisprudence for common man during his era, former Supreme Court judge Justice (retd.) A K Patnaik said today.
Justice Patnaik, who was delivering the welcome speech during a felicitation function organised by 'Justice Krishna Iyer Free Legal Aid Cell and Capital Foundation Society' on the occasion of Justice Iyer's 101st birth anniversary, said, "Justice Krishna Iyer framed a new socio-economic situation in the country. The judiciary itself changed. A new jurisprudence was developed for common man during his era."
"Justice Iyer's thoughts and judgements were in tune with the Constitution and the Preamble," he added.
Marking the celebrations, the foundation felicitated senior advocates Gopal Subramanium and P P Rao, President of Bar Association of India Lalit Bhasin, Lt General C S Naranayan and Roko Cancer Trust Chairman A P S Chawla for their contribution in their respective fields.
