Justice Krishan Murari takes over as Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana HC

Justice Krishan Murari today took charge as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki today administered the oath of office to Justice Murari in a ceremony held at the Haryana Raj Bhavan.

Justice Murari was born on July 9, 1958. He has a long and distinguished career in the legal field.

Hailing from a family of lawyers, he has also been general secretary and president of the high court bar association and specialised in company matters and consolidation cases.

Justice Murari was elevated as an Additional Judge on January 7, 2004, and took oath as a Permanent Judge on August 18, 2005.

Besides the family members of Justice Murari and the judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the function was attended by Punjab Governor V P Singh Badnore, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma, Urban Local Bodies Minister Kavita Jain, Public Health Engineering Minister Banwari Lal, and other senior officers of Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh, according to an official release issued here.
