Pop sensation Justin Bieber is heading to space as part of British travel tycoon Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic program, which is promising sub-orbital flights for "space tourists."
The 19-year-old 'Baby' singer who grew up in Canada, will be joined by his manager, Scooter Braun, the Hollywood Reporter said.
Actors Ashton Kutcher and Leonardo DiCaprio are among the other famous names who have signed up for flights with Virgin Galactic. The initial deposit is said to be USD 250,000.
"Great to hear Justin Bieber and Scooter Braun are latest virgin galactic future astronauts. Congrats, see you up there," Virgin chief Branson tweeted.
Bieber retweeted the Branson message.
Bieber tweeted in February that he wanted to do a concert in space.
That was before Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield serenaded the planet in May from the International Space Station with the David Bowie classic Space Oddity.
