The juvenile told police he and his associates had also planned to murder Mahal who is lodged in a jail, and might have also targeted his brother Ashok and his aides, said Surender Kumar, DCP(Southwest).
The murder was a fallout of a rivalry between the gangs of Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu and Manjeet Mahal who are both lodged in jails.
"In December 2015, Sunil alias Doctor, Kapil's brother-in-law was murdered in Chhawla by Manjeet Mahal's gang. In retaliation, Kapil's gang killed family members of many gangsters of Manjeet Mahal's gang," said the officer.
"The members of Kapil's gang plotted the murder of Shri Krishan and included the juvenile in execution of their planning.
