A juvenile was apprehended in connection with the murder of a 16-year-old boy who had gone missing last month in Jaitpur area here, police said today.
The victim boy had gone missing since the afternoon of September 24, after which his sister filed a kidnapping complaint with the police.
A day later, police received a call from the PCR informing them about a dead body being found on the third floor of an under-construction flat in Khhada Colony in Jaitpur.
The body was identified as that of the kidnapped victim by his family members.
On receiving specific information, an investigation team apprehended the accused juvenile from Kalindi Kunj area.
According to police, the motive of the murder was identified as personal enmity which arose because the assailants had teased the sister of the deceased.
The assailants are believed to have lured the victim to an under-construction flat in Khadda Colony where he was assaulted with bricks on his head, which proved fatal.
"A silver-colour ring of the deceased has been recovered from the juvenile. The associate of the accused is absconding and the local police has been informed", said a senior police official of Crime Branch.
