Juvenile board member shot dead;former BJP MP, brothers booked

A woman member of Juvenile Welfare Board was shot dead today allegedly by two brothers of former BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj on Shikohabad road here.
Four persons, including Sakshiji Maharaj and his brothers have been booked in the case, police said.
Sujata Verma was shot from behind at around 9 PM while she was passing from near the Ashram of Sakshi Maharaj, her associate Anil Yadav, who was present at the spot, told police.
Yadav alleged in his complaint to the police that Vijaya Swaroop and Ram Swaroop, brothers of the former BJP MP, had shot Verma.
She was rushed to District hospital where doctors declared her brought dead, police said.
Verma, who was earlier working as principal in a college reportedly run by Sakshi Maharaj, had a fallout with the former MP some year ago and since then, their relation were strained, sources said.

Earlier too their had been attempt on her life.
Sakshi Maharaj, three time Lok Sabha MP from Farrukhabad had faced rape charges from two women in 2000 and had to spend a month in Tihar and Etah jails.
He was cleared of the charges in 2001 for lack of evidence.
