Four boys and two staff members of a juvenile observation home here were injured in a clash between two groups of inmates this morning, the police said.
Following the incident, people staged a demonstration against the management of the observation home, burnt tires and blocked a road for about half-an-hour.
ASP Kota (City) Anant Kumar along with other police officials reached the spot and spoke to the demonstrators after which the blockade was removed.
Two groups of the inmates at the observation home clashed with each other with sticks, iron rods and other weapons. The two groups have had verbal spats between them for some time, the home's superintendent Kaluram Meena said.
Two staff members including a guard, who intervened to calm down the boys, sustained injuries, the official said.
The four boys and two staff members injured in the clash were admitted to a hospital where only one was still undergoing treatment while the rest have been discharged, Meena said.
The superintendent claimed that he had anticipated that this kind of incident would take place and to prevent it, he had written a letter to the authorities concerned to shift these boys to a special home in Bhilwara but no action was taken.
Seven inmates of the children observation home have been booked, ASI Rayeesuddin at RK Puram police station said.
