K'taka Cabinet clears National Investment, Manufacturing zone

Karnataka Cabinet today gave its approval for setting up of National Investment and Manufacturing Zone at Vasanthanarsapura in Tumkur district.
The project costing Rs 3,500 crore would come up on 13,327 acres, Minister for Law T B Jayachandra told reporters after the Cabinet meeting.
He said 3,598 acres had already been acquired.
The project would generate 80,000 direct jobs and create 1,60,000 more indirectly, Jayachandra said.
The report has been prepared by Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation.
