A kabaddi player was allegedly hacked to death by some men in Dayalpur village of the district as he did not agree for mutual agreement in a court case, police said today.
Bijinder, also known as "Sardar Kabaddi", was an international player, said a police spokesman.
Bijinder's brother Rajender Singh told the police that Bijinder used to run a gym.
Yesterday night, Rajender and his another brother Rohtash were working in the fields near Bijinder's gym when they heard his cries, he said.
The two rushed toward the gym and found nine-ten people attacking Bijender with swords and sickles.
When Rajender and Rohtash tried to save Bijinder, they were also attacked. The attackers then fled the spot, the spokesman said.
Bijinder was rushed to hospital, but was declared dead.

The judgement in the case is to be pronounced in a couple of days and the accused wanted Bijinder to settle the case with mutual agreement, the spokesman said.
