With the battle line drawn for the October 15 bypoll for the Kanubari seat in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh, the Congress as well as the Opposition BJP is leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters in the battle of ballots.
Buoyed over the Modi wave that swept the last Lok Sabha polls in the country, the BJP in the state is trying to play the Modi factor besides development during its election campaign while the ruling Congress in the state is embarking on various development initiatives launched in the state by Chief Minister Nabam Tuki.
Byelection for the seat would witness a straight fight between Congress nominee Gabriel Denwang Wangsu, a former journalist, and BJP's Rongnai Maham.
The seat fell vacant after the demise of veteran Congress leader Newlai Tingkhatra days after the election results were declared.
Tuki, along with party stalwarts addressed a huge rally at Kanubari in a last bid to woo the electorates for the second time in five months.
AICC Secretary and in-Charge Arunachal Dr Jayakumar lambasted the BJP's 'Achche Din Aayenge' mantra, APCC President Padi Richo reiterated that Congress had got 42 seats from the 60 and it will retain the same figure.
