Kabuli gram, other pulses slip on low demand

Select pulses, led by kabuli gram, fell by up to Rs 300 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on muted demand from retailers and dal mills.

Traders said besides subdued demand from retailers and dal mills, adequate stock position on increased arrivals from producing belts, mainly dragged down kabuli gram and other pulses.

In the national capital, kabuli gram small variety drifted lower by Rs 300 to Rs 4,000-5,000 per quintal.

Gram also declined by Rs 100 to Rs 3,650-3,750, while its dal local and best quality traded lower by Rs 200 each to Rs 3,600-4,000 and Rs 4,000-4,100 per quintal, respectively.
