Featuring many little-known stories and never-before-seen photographs of Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, a book on the former President's life was released today by his aide on his first death anniversary.
Published by Penguin, the book 'What Can I Give? Life lessons from my Teacher A P J Abdul Kalam' is authored by Srijan Pal Singh, who worked with Kalam for several years.
Singh gives readers a peek into Kalam's personal life by revealing his daily routine, travels, anecdotes, etc.
The memoir also features many little-known stories and never-before-seen photographs, he told PTI.
Singh, who has co-authored a few books with Kalam, was with him till the last day of his life when he passed away on this day last year while delivering a lecture at IIM, Shillong.
"The book is a tribute to my teacher," said Singh, who was not only Kalam's adviser during the his post-Presidency years but also his closest student.
He said he would donate all the royalties from the book to the charitable cause of providing free education to underprivileged children through an initiative called 'The Kalam Library Project'.
Such libraries are being set up in different parts of the country, said Singh, an IIM Ahmedabad alumni.
