"Bharat Ratna A P J Abdul Kalam will go down in history as one of the most popular Presidents of India. There was an element of Godliness to his personality. A visionary science leader, Kalam's depth and expanse of knowledge was astonishing," the Governor said in a condolence message.
"An excellent communicator, Dr Kalam inspired the youths and young students to serve the nation. If India is recognised as a leader in Space Science in the world, a major credit has to go to him. His sudden demise has saddened the heart of every Indian. The people of India will remain ever so grateful to him for his services to the nation and for his vision for the nation.
