Kalaunji, Jeera prices fall on subdued demand

Kalaunji and jeera prices fell up to Rs 300 per quintal in the national capital today on subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.
Kalaunji fell by Rs 200 to Rs 10,000-14,000 per quintal.
Jeera common and best quality also declined up to Rs 300 to conclude at Rs 11,000-11,200 and Rs 14,300-14,600 per quintal.
Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks pulled down kalaunji and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
Following are today's quotations per quintal:
Ajwain 14,500-19,500, black pepper (per kg) 730-930, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,300-1,390 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,450-1,570.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 670-720, cardamom (colour robin) 650-710, cardamom bold 700-720, cardamom extra (bold) 870-920 and cloves (kg) 900-925.
