The Kangra District BJP, at its meeting in Dharamsala, passed two resolutions opposing the creation of new districts and removal of Ravi from the cabinet.

The resolution opposing the creation of new districts questioned the rationale behind raising the issue near the end of the government's term with an eye to divide the biggest Kangra region with 15 out of 68 assembly constituencies.

The meeting presided by district BJP president Ranjeet Singh Pathania was also attended by Civil Supplies Minister Ramesh Dhawala and Industry Minister Krishen Kapoor and three BJP MLAs from Kangra.

Ravi and another minister Sarveen Chowdhary did not attend the meeting which lasted about two hours.

The meeting also targeted Independent MLA from Nurpur, Rakesh Pathania for joining the chorus for creation of new districts.

Kangra BJP President Pathania said the copies of the resolutions have been sent to BJP president Nitin Gadkari and, Chief Minister P.K.Dhumal.

Ravi was elected from Thural assembly constituency but after delimitation his constituency has disintegrated and the new constituency of Jaisinghpur, which included large segments of Thural, has been reserved for Scheduled Caste candidate.
