"The malaria department has been informed to use anti-larva spray in 14 wards of the city and hospitals so as to curb the menace of the disease," city's Chief Medical Officer R P Yadav said.
"A control room will also be set up where doctors will keep an eye in the dengue affected areas," he said.
As part of preventive measure against the disease, special care will be taken in the areas from where most number of dengue cases were reported last year. Teams of Health Department officials will also oversee the preparations and detect dengue like conditions in the area.
The department has appealed to the people to maintain hygiene and keep their houses free from stagnant water.
"Those suffering from fever should immediately go to the hospital instead of taking medicines by their own," the department said.
More than 2000 cases were reported last year in the city, the department added.
