The initial report on the attack on Karachi's Jinnah International Airport has been presented to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif which said that the terrorists entered from two different gates and they wanted to destroy airplanes but security forces foiled their attempt.
According to the report, the attack was aimed at paralysing the civil aviation network.
The airport security force and rangers played key role in combating the terrorists, according to the report.
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which claimed responsibility for the attacked, said the assault was in revenge for its late leader Hakimullah Mehsud, who was killed in a US drone strike in November.
