The renovation of 'Balavana' in Puttur was almost over and finishing touches were being given to the building, official sources said.
The writer, who built the house in 1930, had been living there till 1973.
A team of conservation architects of the Indian National Trust for Art and Heritage (INTACH) have taken up the restoration of the house.
Old materials of the house including stones, tiles, rafters, door frames and windows had been restored, while damaged items were replaced with new ones to give the house an original look.
