"We are doing it (cabinet expansion). Digvijay Singh has gone to America. On his return, I would go to Delhi and talk to him and madam (Sonia Gandhi), and then will decide," he told reporters here.
Singh, who is in charge of the party affairs in Karnataka, is on a personal visit to America, and is expected to return to India in the third week of this month.
The Chief Minister has been deferring the expansion citing one reason or the other. He had recently said he would expand his Cabinet after the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) polls.
Siddaramaiah's intentions to expand his ministry has invigorated the hopes of several ministerial aspirants including Malaka Raddi, Santosh Lad, Malikayya Guttedar, Vinay Kulkarni, H M Revanna, H Y Meti and Veeranna Mattikatti.
Meanwhile, Raddi said "the decision is left to the Chief Minister.
