The decision to suspend the legislature sitting on November 28 has been opposed by the principal opposition party BJP, which walked out of the Business Advisory Committee meeting today.
The BAC of the Legislative Assembly that met under the Chairmanship of Speaker K B Koliwad decided to hold an extra day of session on December 3 for the loss on November 28.
As per the schedule, the 10 day session that began on November 21 was to end on December 2.
Reiterating BJP's opposition to the move inside the Assembly, Opposition Leader Jagadish Shettar said "we are against this decision.The session is to discuss various issues of north Karnataka. Government itself supporting such bandh is not a right move."
Similar scenes were seen in the Karnataka Legislative Council, where Chairman D H Shankaramurthy announced that the House would again meet on Tuesday and there would be no sitting on Monday.
