Karnataka assembly adjourned sine die

The Karnataka Legislative Assembly was today adjourned sine die after a 22-day session.
Doing away with the normal practice of holding only winter session in Belagavi, the government had this time decided to hold the first half of monsoon session in Belgavi district, bordering Maharashtra, in north Karnataka, and the second half in the state capital.
The sittings of Assembly was held from June 29 to July 10 in Belagavi and from July 13 to 31 in Bengaluru.
Amendment to the Lokayukta Act simplifying process for removal of Lokayukta in the wake of an alleged scam in the office of the anti corruption ombudsman Y Bhaskar Rao involving his son was the highlight during the session.
