Karnataka defeat Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd 3-2

Karnataka registered a hard-fought 3-2 win over Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd in a Pool B match on day four of the 4th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2014 (Division A) here today.
Karnataka's M D Rahell scored two goals. His first goal was a field goal that he scored in the 19th minute to give his team the lead. But a successful penalty corner by Mumbai's Vinay Valmiki in the 38th minute levelled the scores.
Karnataka once again surged ahead when Pruthviraj converted a penalty corner in the 47th minute. But Mumbai wasted little time in scoring the equaliser, as Rajendra Pawar netted the ball in the 53rd minute to make it 2-2.
But a goal in the 63rd minute by Rahell helped Karnataka wrap up the match in their favour.
In another Pool B match, Hockey Odisha got the better of Himachal Pradesh 2-1.
In a Pool D game, Hockey Bhopal posted a 2-1 win over Hockey Maharashtra.

Razik Shaikh gave Maharashtra the lead by converting a penalty corner in the 28th minute before Bhopal's Amir Ur Rehman scored the equaliser in the 37th minute and then Shanhnawaz Khan sneaked in the winning goal for the team with just five remaining on the clock.
In the last match of the day, Pool D's Sports Authority of India thrashed Chhattisgarh 7-1.

Pool B: Karnataka 3 M D Rahell (19 and 63 min), Pruthviraj (27 min) beat Hockey Mumbai Association 2 Vinay Valmiki (38 min), Rajendra Pawar (53 min).
Pool B: Hockey Odisha 2 Sunil Ekka (7 min) and Sanjit Toppo (58 min) beat Himachal Pradesh 1 Amandeep Singh (35 min).
Pool D: Hockey Bhopal 2 Amir Ur Rehman (37 min) and Shanhnawaz Khan (65 min) beat Hockey Maharashtra 1 Razik Shaikh (28 min).
Pool D: Sports Authority Of India 7 Sandeep Kumar (44, 53 and 59 min), Navdeep Singh (9 min), Pankaj Mishra (19 min), Saurabh Kumar (27 min) and Ankit Mishra (66 min) beat Chhattisgarh 1 Wasiullah Khan (38 min).
