An FIR was today registered on the complaint of Bhavdeep Vala who accused three persons of forging his signature on a cheque to fraudulently withdraw Rs 43 lakh from his bank account, police said.
Vala is the son of Karnataka Governor, and former state BJP minister, Vajubhai Vala.
In his complaint, Vala accused the president of Saurashtra Oil Mills Association (SOMA), Sameer Shah, as well as Shah's younger brother, Shyam, and Shah's Amreli-based business associate, Parbat Rajodiya, of forging his signature on a cheque to withdraw Rs 43 lakh from his bank account, police said.
Vala, in his complaint, said he was a partner in the Rajmoti Oil Mill, owned by Sameer Shah, between April 1, 2006 to March 31, 2014.
"Even though I left the partnership, the three attempted to withdraw Rs 43 lakh from my bank account by issuing a bogus cheque which had a forged signature of mine," Vala's complaint stated.
Vala said that the cheque, allegedly deposited by the accused, bounced following which the bank issued a notice.

"However, the three never informed me about the notice that the bank had issued against me. Instead, Parbat Rajodiya filed a complaint of cheque-bouncing against me with Amreli police," Vala alleged.
When contacted, Sameer Shah denied the allegations and said that Vala was trying to "defame" him.
"Bhavdeep had filed a similar complaint two years ago and that was solved. He is just trying to defame us," Shah said.
"An FIR was lodged at the B Division police station under sections of the IPC relating to extortion, forgery, criminal conspiracy and other offences," said Inspector R S Thakar.
The official added that further investigations into the issue were currently underway.
