Karnataka put itself in a strong position against Vidarbha by bundling them out for a mere 176 and then reaching 108 for three in their second innings at Moti Bagh stadium, here today.
Vidarbha started the day at 10 for no loss but except Jitesh Sharma (61), Ravi Jangid (38) and skipper Faiz Fazal (31) no other batsmen could resist the Karnataka bowlers in the Group B match.
Sreenath Aravind (3/27) and Shreyas Gopal (3/22) scalped three batsmen each while R Vinay Kumar (2/57) accounted for two batsmen.
The 94-run stand for the fifth wicket between Jangid and Jitesh stabilised their innings a bit but lower order capitulated.
With this effort, Karanataka took a 91-run crucial lead and stretched it to 199 by ending the second day at 108 for three with opener R Samrath (45) and Stuart Binny (11) at the crease.
