He said there was no provision for reservation in the Medical Council of India notification. Besides, it amounted to "interfering" in a state's rights.
The former chief minister said his government had in 2007-08 academic year scrapped the CET for medical courses in the state and since then the admission process was based on Class XII marks and reservation policy.
In a letter to partymen, Karunanidhi referred to the Centre's plan to file a petition seeking review of the apex court ruling and said it "is not acceptable."
The Supreme Court had on July 18 quashed the MCI notification for holding common entance tests for MBBS, BDS and post-graduate medical courses.
