Karvy Computershare has launched InstaPoll, the country's first tablet-based voting system targeted primarily at corporates, to enable shareholders to use tablets as ballot boxes during shareholder meetings and ensure speedy publication of voting results.
Karvy Group Chairman C Parthasarathy said, "InstaPoll is an example of a service that will have direct impact on our clients and their shareholders. We have launched to promote the green initiatives being pushed by the government".
The application also promises scalability to cope with any vote requirement while also providing increased security and accuracy, due to secure, online tabulation and encryption.
"InstaPoll is the first of its kind in the country, and was tested at the Reliance Industries annual general meeting held on June 18. A company can complete its entire annual general meeting voting process in less than an hour, with complete convenience and transparency," Karvy Computershare CEO V Ganesh said.
A Reliance official confirmed the use of this application at its annual general meeting held here earlier this week.
