Kasera appointed as secretary of commission enquiring into
Press Trust of India Bhopal Rajnish Kasera, joint commissioner of Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court, has been appointed as the secretary of the Justice (retired) J K Jain commission which would be conducting enquiry into death of five farmers in police firing in Mandsaur district.
Kasera will continue to discharge his duties as a joint commissioner (litigation and co-ordination) of the High Court.
An order of the Indore divisional commissioner said that Kasera will facilitate the commission's work in his capacity as the secretary.
The state government appointed the single-member commission to enquire into the incident of police firing in Mandsaur on June 6 during farmers' agitation in which five persons were killed.
The commission, which will function from Indore, will enquire into the circumstances under which the firing took place, whether police used "reasonable" force, and also suggest ways to prevent such incidents in future.
