A senior National Conference leader today said that if Kashmir was buring, Jammu too was on the edge and blamed BJP for not addressing the concerns of the people despite getting over 20 seats from the region.
"If Kashmir is burning, Jammu too is on edge," NC provincial President Devender Singh Rana said while interacting with people, after laying foundation stone of a community hall at Jandrah belt of Jammu city.
The sense of alienation and deprivation being felt in Jammu Province also needs to be understood and addressed, he said.
Referring to the 2014 mandate, the NC Provincial President said that despite putting 25 assembly seats into the kitty of BJP, Jammu suffers.
Attacking the BJP, he said after the party sat on the "driver's seat" in government, it had undermined" the concerns of these people.
"The people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh should be empowered as a matter of right and not as charity".
Rana said Jammu is immediate beneficiary of peace in Kashmir, as happenings in the valley impact the situation in this region.
"Therefore, there is greater need for addressing the political problems of the state, which will eventually lead to emotional and economic integration of the state," he maintained.
