"Our focus is on adventure tourism in a big way. We have so many options available for it right from trekking to biking, river rafting, skiing, etc," J-K tourism development corporation managing director Farooq Ahmad Shah said at the inauguration of the Travel and Tourism Fair here.
He said since the floods of September 2014, there has been no flood in Jammu, but some incidents were blown out of proportion which affects the perception of tourists.
The tourism department is trying to promote the state as an independent tourism destination, he said adding the infrastructure is also being upgraded in many places.
