The minimum temperature recorded in Srinagar was -0.4 degrees Celsius compared to yesterday's -1.2 degrees Celsius, a MET official said.
The night temperature also registered an improvement of over a degree in Qazigund and Kokernag hill resort in south. Qazigund recorded a low of 1.8 degrees Celsius against yesterday's -1.3 degrees Celsius, Kokernag recorded a low of 1.0 degree Celsius.
However, Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded a dip of three degrees in the night temperature as the mercury settled at -3.0 degrees Celsius compared to yesterday's 0.1 degrees Celsius, the official said.
Gulmarg in north Kashmir registered a low of -1.5 degrees Celsius the previous night, while Pahalgam which serves as a base camp during the annual Amarnath yatra had recorded a low of -1.4 degrees Celsius yesterday, the spokesman said.
Leh in frontier region of Ladakh continued to be the coldest recorded place in the state with a low of -12.2 degrees Celsius - a drop of over one degree compared to previous night, the official said.
