The state unit of BJP today alleged that separatists and some political parties in Jammu and Kashmir were "misleading" people over the content of the April 6 Supreme Court order staying the execution of eight persons.
"Separatist leadership as well as some political parties and leaders are misleading the people by misinterpreting the content and spirit of SC order of April 6 staying the execution of eight persons," BJP state chief spokesperson Jitendra Singh told reporters here.
A two-judge bench of SC on Saturday evening had stayed the execution of eight death row convicts for four weeks.
Though it did not refer to the Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru case, the bench said the intimation of the execution reached the relatives of the person after his hanging and they could not meet the condemned prisoner for one last time before he was hanged.
Singh claimed that Kashmir-based politicians and separatists were "misinterpreting and manipulating" the observation.
