Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Satyadev Katare here today urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to clarify status of supply of coal to thermal power plants in the state in view of conflicting statements of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Energy Minister Piyush Goyal.
In an interaction with the press of 13 states through video-conferencing facility from New Delhi on Sunday, Goyal responding to a query on shortage of coal in the power plants, had said that all plants in the state have received adequate coal supply from the Centre.
However, the Chief Minister had earlier blamed the short supply of coal from the Centre for the power crisis in the state, Katare said.
The Leader of Opposition in the letter said that in view of conflicting statements, he was unable to understand where the problem lies, with the Centre or with the State.
Katare urged the Prime Minister to immediately intervene in the matter and clarify the position, so that power crisis in the state is resolved and the confusion between the Centre and the state on the matter could be cleared out.
