The protesters, including women, with a black cloth tied around their mouth and holding placards, participated in the 'Nilapusamaram' (standing agitation) demanding restoration of the liquor policy announced by the Congress-led UDF government aiming a total ban on liquor in 10 years time.
The KCBC had organised a similar protest a few days ago in Kozhikode.
In order to pacify the Catholic church, which had criticised the government for diluting the new liquor policy, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had met Thamarassery Bishop Remigiose Inchananiyil and held talks with him in Kozhikode recently.
