In an open letter to the Prime Minister, who is arriving here tomorrow for his maiden visit to the state after assuming office, the KCCI demanded that the Centre initiate the process of returning all projects set up by the NHPC in Jammu and Kashmir to the state "as an interim compensation for Indus Water Treaty".
"The Trade organisations demand that all the recommendations made by different commissions appointed by Central Government from time to time in regard to augmentation of State resources by way of transfer of Power projects operated by NHPC be implemented in letter and spirit," the KCCI statement said.
The KCCI urged the Prime Minister to dedicate the Uri-II power project, which he will be inaugurating tomorrow, to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
"As your goodself is inaugurating the Uri II project, won't it be one of the best CBM's to dedicate it to people of J&K State," it added.
