"During Telangana agitation I prayed the goddess that I would perform 'Ayuta Chnadi Yagam' if the statehood is granted. I will perform another Yagam - 'Prayuta Chandi Yagam' if all the government schemes including 'Mission Bhageeratha', 'Misssion Kakatiya' are implemented successfully and farmers of Telangana prosper," KCR said after the completion of five-day-long 'Ayuta Chandi Yagam' yesterday.
According to Vedas, 'Prayuta Chandi Yagam' is 100 times tougher then 'Ayuta Chandi Yagam'.
'Ayuta Chandi Yagam' involved chanting of 700 shlokas called 'Saptha Shathi' for 10,000 times to appease the Goddess Durga, while 'Prayuta Chandi Yagam' calls for chanting the Saptha Shathi for one lakh times.
The 'Ayuta Chandi Yagam' drew to a close yesterday at 1.30 PM with the priests performing 'Mahapoornahuti', the concluding rituals.
Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah, Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao, Union Ministers M Venkaiah Naidu and Bandaru Dattatreya, NCP President Sharad Pawar, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chnadrababu Naidu were among the prominent personalities who visited the Yagam.
