Nothing is final as yet because the TRS politburo is said to be strongly advocating the need for a tie-up with the Congress and/or the CPI to emerge as a formidable combination in Telangana.
"We have suggested that we have an alliance with the CPI, if not the Congress. But he (TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao) is not ready to heed (our advice)," a party's politburo member and former MP said.
The TRS may take a final call on alliances at its politburo meeting slated for next week, he added.
It was the TRS that proposed to ally with the CPI, which has also strongly supported the statehood cause, and the latter too responded positively.
