Theroux said keeping the nuptials under wraps took away the excitement out of planning the ceremony, reported the New York Daily News.
"I wouldn't say it was fun to plan. Part of the fun of planning a wedding is telling people and we had to keep it under wraps," he said.
The 44-year-old "Leftovers" star and Aniston, 46, tied the knot in front of a slew of A-listers on August 5 in the backyard of their Bel Air, California, home, before jetting off to Bora Bora for their honeymoon.
Theroux said once the ceremony was over he was instantly less stressed.
"I noticed it almost immediately. It was like your blood pressure goes down two PSI. It's not like life is completely different. It's a beautiful thing.
