Kejriwal, Sisodia hold budget consultation with industry body

Delhi Government today held separate budget consultations with various industry and trade bodies and resident welfare associations (RWAs) at the Delhi Secretariat.
The consultation meetings were attended by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, the Secretary of Finance and other senior officials of Delhi Government.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CCI) was the first group to make a presentation on budget recommendations for Delhi.
The industry body made presentations on Delhi as a 'Centre of Excellence' on knowledge economy, education, skill development, sanitation, industrial development, ease of doing business, MSME, environment (solar energy, pollution, solid waste management, water conservation, dust pollution, urban forestry), taxation, VAT, e-commerce, incubation centres, tourism, health care and retail.
Both the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister interacted with the members of the body and deliberations were held on sectors like education, skill development, vocational training as per the industry requirements, skill university, job fairs, incubation centres for all, CSR and health care.
After CII, some trade bodies presented their suggestions to the government.

The suggestions included development of parks, individuals to be persuaded to partner in development of the city, involvement of NRIs, tourism, MSME and skill development.
The RWAs, who came to present their suggestions, lauded the first-of-its-kind consultative budget of Delhi Government. They said that this was for the first time that not only RWAs and small groups, but individuals were also being invited to be a part of the budget making process.
Suggestions that came from RWAs and other groups included tree plantation on PWD roads (specific trees after study of the area specific requirement), water treatment plants, parking areas, roads, and maintenance of parks, etc.
The Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister noted down their suggestions and also discussed it with them.
