He has taken the same metro innumerable times unnoticed by fellow commuters but today Aam Aadmi leader Arvind Kejriwal was mobbed by hundreds of people as be boarded the train to Ramlila Maidan to take oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi.
The CISF, which is responsible for the security of Delhi Metro, had a harrowing time keeping away the crowd when Kejriwal was boarding the train at Kaushambi metro station and getting down at Barakhambha metro station.
The Aam Aadmi leader had yesterday announced that he would be taking the common man's mode of transport -- Delhi Metro -- to go to Ramlila ground for the swearing-in ceremony.
To get a glimpse of him, hundreds of his supporters and AAP activists gathered at his residence in Kaushambi in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district, and followed him till the metro station.
The AAP supporters, awaiting his arrival at the station, started shouting slogans 'Phool ki na haath ki, Dilli ho gayi Aap ki' (Neither Lotus nor the Hand, Delhi belongs to AAP), 'Aam aadmi jeet ke aa, itihaas racha ke aa' (History has been made, it's the common man's victory).
CISF personnel had to wade through a sea of humanity as they escorted Kejriwal to the train, with many among the crowd unruffled by the rush clicking away pictures of Kejriwal who was clad in white-and-black checked shirt, trousers and a blue pullover.
They clapped, cheered and recorded videos of the momentous journey. People were standing at the entrance of the station, many were perched on the stairs and the escalators and others were jostling at the platform.
