Maha govt reduces VAT on LED bulbs and tubelights * To promote the use of LED bulbs and tubelights in the state, Maharashtra government has decided to reduce the VAT on them to 5.5 per cent from 12.5 per cent.
"The government has decided to reduce the VAT on LED bulbs and tube lights from to 5.5 per cent from 12.5 per cent as we aims to reduce energy consumption by 35-50 per cent within next few years," state Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said.
