"Our target of the Indian market is 200,000 visitors in the next five years. At present, we are getting 62,000 only, which is quite less. We are investing a lot in the Indian market," Kenya Tourism Regional Marketing Manager Betty Ichan said.
The Kenya Tourism is taking marketing initiatives to achieve the target. "We are working with our partners, airlines and tour operators who sell Kenya in India. It would a joint promotions and packaging campaigns to increase demand," she said.
"The potential of Indian tourists is big and vast and that is why we are here to market. We have roughly 62,000 Indian visitors to Kenya and want to increase more," said Ambassador of Kenya in India Florence I Weche.
Kenya has historical connections and bilateral relations with India and it would make our work easy, she said.

"What we need is to market our products in India and that we are doing here. We have just finished the training of our tour agents here to market Kenya as a tourist destination," she added.
According to her, on Kenyan Visa, an Indian tourist could visit three East African country - Kenyan, Uganda and Rwanda.
